FLAMENCA Music at Montreux Jazz Festival
FLAMENCA made its public debut at the Montreux Jazz Festival in 2024, marking the first live presentation of the project within a major international festival setting.
Blending electronic music with flamenco, FLAMENCA is built around an imagined Corrida concept — a dramatic dancefloor ritual inspired by the tension, emotion, and symbolism of the traditional Spanish bullfight, reinterpreted for the present day.
We introduced the core performance during STBAN’s set, where dancers became part of the musical narrative, moving in direct dialogue with the sound.
The energy of the night was shaped by a curated line-up including Don Juan and Sparrow & Barbossa, whose selections guided the flow and anchored the FLAMENCA sound within the festival environment.
Beyond the stage, we expanded the experience throughout the space.
Dancers moved through the environment — among fans and across the room — dissolving the boundary between performer and audience and transforming the Super Bock Area into a fully immersive ritual.
The result was an atmosphere where music, movement, and crowd energy coexisted as one continuous experience, capturing the raw essence of flamenco while translating it into a contemporary club and festival context.
